The Shimenawa collection explores the sacred notion of the connection between the visible and invisible worlds. Translated from Japanese as 'rope enclosure', the Shimenawa binds and infuses places with energy. Each pattern has been designed as an interweaving, a knot marrying spaces together, in the manner of the Married Rocks of Meoto Iwa.
